Savings claim — the basis
Our headline says you can save up to 90% by owning your software instead of renting it. "Up to" matters — here is exactly how the figure is worked out, so you can check it against your own situation.
The comparison
We compare five years of per-seat subscription software against five years of owning: a one-off build plus hosting. Five years, because business software is not a one-year decision.
The rented side
UK job-management and business software for small firms typically costs £30–£80 per user per month (for example, published pricing for tools such as Joblogic and simPRO in 2026). A team of 12 at £50 per user per month pays £7,200 a year — £36,000 over five years.
The owned side
A typical small-business system build at our prices, plus hosting from £25 a month over five years, comes to a few thousand pounds in total. Against the £36,000 above, that is a saving of roughly 90%. The calculator on our pricing page uses exactly these assumptions — a build of £750 plus £100 per person, and hosting at £25 a month — and caps what it shows at 90% even when the arithmetic comes out higher.
When the saving is smaller
Smaller teams save less, because the rented side of the comparison shrinks while the build cost does not shrink as fast. A five-person team on £40 per user typically saves around 80%; a two-person team on cheaper software may save closer to half. The calculator on our pricing page uses your numbers, not ours, and is deliberately cautious.
What the claim is not
It is not a guarantee, and it is not a comparison with any specific competitor's product. Your written quote gives your real figure before you commit to anything.
